Camp Fortunate - Clark Canyon Reservoir, MT. On August 11, 1805, Lewis' scouting party was looking for Indians, in order to buy horses, when they came upon this location, naming it Shoshone Cove. Meanwhile, Clark and the main party were struggling upriver with the canoes, planning to reach Camp Fortunate and wait for Lewis' return. Camp Fortunate is now underwater at today's Clark Canyon Reservoir.
